Dr. Sparkman is currently a researcher and educator in the field of Human Services. She is Assistant Professor at Old Dominion membership chair for the National Organization for Human Services.

African American Family Functioning: Examining the Relationship between Conflict and Parenting

This study examines the relationship between parenting dimensions and family conflict among African Americans utilizing survey methods. Findings suggest a significant relationship exists and are discussed through a theoretical lens.
